On the surface “Train to Isfahan” seems like a love song between two people. The "train to Isfahan" serves as a metaphor for a journey the speaker and the person addressed are taking together, whether it be in their relationship or in life. The "bridge between our dreams" implies that the speaker and the person addressed, share a deep connection and have a common goal or future. Overall, the poem is an expression of the speaker's deep love and commitment to the person addressed and the belief that their lives are intertwined and headed toward a bright future together.
For me as a writer “Train to Isfahan” is a relation between two cultures living inside me: The Persian culture and the Hebrew culture. If politicians are preaching about a conflict between the two nations (Iran and Israel), for a person like me, who has them both, it is not a conflict but a beautiful love story! Like two people on a journey of love trying to take the road and finding a place where they can be together in peace, those two cultures found a place to live together through me.
