“Sea of Salt” song talks about the connection between the writer, the process of creation, and the desert as a motive and a source of inspiration.
The song opens with a calm melody and with words like “southern breeze”, “all the salt
idle in place” which brings the listeners to a calm desert atmosphere (the silence before the storm). In the song, the desert brings up some old memories, and with them also emotions, the emotions lead the speaker in the song to the creation. Creating any form of art is an emotional experience and can be even a spiritual experience that bullied up step by step. The mention of the burning bush is a biblical reference and a metaphor for the heart which is burning from emotions and never stops.
