A word from the writer:
A few years ago I was in my apartment in Istanbul in the city center and I was watching from my window the neighbor's kids playing in the street, in between the cars on the road, there were no trees around just more and more buildings. it made me wonder, which kind of world and reality many kinds are living in today and what kind of world I want my future kids will grow up too. I wrote this song “For our kids”
This song is about the hope for a peaceful future and the desire to create a better world for one's children. The imagery of "breathing in soil" and "looking at the sky" suggests the speaker's longing for a connection to nature and a sense of peace. The song also talks about escaping from the violence and the war and educating children from the beginning to appreciate the place and to spread love.
lyrics
For our kids
When time passes slowly,
but we don't care
Look at the sky,
breathe some soil
to help us breathe
Because it isn't reality,
it's a dream
We escaped from the rifles,
to the green fields
We'll educate our children,
from the beginning
appreciate the place
Because it isn't a war,
it's actually peace
Because we are all human,
and we are all daughters of eve
We came to this world
to spread love
to help us breathe
Because it isn't reality, it's a dream
When time passes slowly, but we don't care
Look at the sky, breathe some soil
to help us breathe
Because it isn't a war, it's actually peace

i like this version better than the original. The middle part has that aggression that makes the excellent balance with the beginning and ending of the song. owlobo
the music is like the picture, full of power an warmth, remembering on celtic myth of fertility. There's even a song about St. Johns day (Rana na Ivana), the ancient summer solstice.

Like their earlier albums, Laboratorium Pieśni comes back with great vocals, with the added benefit of more instrumentals on the back of the track. It's a wonderful folk album, and I suggest giving it a listen. witcheroid
